As temperatures start to drop and colors of leaves on the trees start to change, it is evident that fall is in the air.
Fall is my favorite season, reminding me that although things change, there is beauty all around us.
October is an especially memorable month for me, as it is my sweet grandmother's birthday on Halloween. You can bet that here at Lizzie's Heritage Inn, the home that Grandma grew up in will be especially festive this month.
October is a fun and busy month in Parowan as well. Starting at the beginning of October and running through the 29th, you can drive up and down Main Street and spot all the scarecrows during the annual "Scarecrows on Main" event. Scarecrows of all shapes, sizes, and themes will be lining the street for your enjoyment and entertainment.
On Saturday, October 19, join us for Fall Fest at Parowan Main Street Park. This is a fun, family friendly event with something for everyone. There will be games, vendors, and food from 10 am to 4 pm. Stop by and enjoy a pleasant fall day in the park.
One of the things I look forward to most in the fall is fresh apples. Not too far from our bed & breakfast you can enjoy a traditional apple picking experience!
Just because summer is over doesn't mean you can't still enjoy some of the many sights and activities southern Utah has to offer. We are centrally located between the Las Vegas and Salt Lake City airports, and short driving distances to Brian Head, Bryce Canyon, and Zions National Park.
One of my favorite memories from childhood was the caramel popcorn balls my mom used to make to pass out on Halloween. I'm excited to bring back this family tradition to Lizzie's, so if you're in the area on Halloween, be sure to stop by for a popcorn ball of your own.
With it being Halloween, it wouldn't be appropriate to not mention our resident "visitor". Don't worry, we're all family here, and this sweet lady loves her home and only wants to grace us with her presence. We're glad she's sticking around!
When planning your vacation to southern Utah, be sure to also check out https://www.visitutah.com/places-to-go/southwestern/ for more things you can do in the area, or you can just spend a couple relaxing days on our wrap around front porch, soaking up all the Fall!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
