In this season of family, friendship and Thanksgiving, we are so grateful to all our friends, near and far, who, when they could have gone anywhere for a vacation or even a quick getaway, have chosen to visit our unique bed & breakfast.  We are grateful for each of you, and are honored to call you "friend".

Thanksgiving is a time of tradition, and for many years, one of our favorite Thanksgiving desserts is this Pear Cheddar Pie. We don't have a Thanksgiving meal without it.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Pear Cheddar Pie

4 large ripe pears, peeled and thinly sliced
1/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp white flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 unbaked pie crust

Topping:
1/2 c. cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 c. white flour
1 cube butter, melted
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp salt

Combine pears, sugar, flour, salt, pour into pie crust.
Combine topping ingredients until crumbly, sprinkle over pear filling.
Bake at 425 degrees for 25-35 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is melted. Cool for 10 minutes. Best served warm.
